Ireland’s Gathering for Piano Pedagogy and Practice.
June 6th & 7th, 2026
We invite submissions for workshops, and presentations for IPPC on June 6th & 7th, 2026. Any practising teacher can submit a proposal and we aim to select a broad and representative mix of sessions.
What is the Irish Piano Pedagogy Conference?
The IPPC is a new national gathering for piano teachers across Ireland. It’s a two-day event focused on learning, connection, and inspiration – with workshops, talks and discussions designed to support teachers at every stage of their careers.
Who is the conference for?
The IPPC welcomes anyone involved in piano teaching, from independent teachers and school-based educators to college lecturers, accompanists, and students preparing to teach. If you teach, mentor, or simply care about piano education in Ireland, this event is for you.
Can I come if I'm not Irish?
Of course! It's called the Irish Piano Pedagogy Conference because that's where it's hosted but teachers from anywhere are welcome!
Where will the conference take place?
The 2026 conference will be held in Dublin in The Alex hotel. This is easily accessible by the bus and luas if you're arriving to Heuston or Connolly.
Do I need to be a member of any organisation to attend?
No. The IPPC is an independent, community-led initiative. It is open to all piano teachers regardless of affiliation.
Who is organising the conference?
The IPPC is coordinated by Nicola Cantan in collaboration with a growing team of piano educators across Ireland. The conference is a non-institutional, community-driven initiative focused on connection, inclusion and professional growth.
Can I attend for just one day?
Yes. You can choose a 1-day pass or a full 2-day ticket. The schedule is designed so that both days offer unique sessions, with extra benefits for full-conference attendees.
Can I present a session or workshop?
Absolutely. Scroll up to see the call for proposals. Teachers at all stages of experience are encouraged to apply.
Will there be certificates or CPD credit?
Yes! All attendees will receive a certificate of participation that can be used as evidence of professional development.
Is this only for piano teachers?
The sessions and topics will be specific to piano. However, teachers of other instruments are extremely welcome. Just be aware that you'll likely have to adapt some of the ideas.
Can I sponsor or exhibit at the conference?
Yes! We’re currently seeking partners and exhibitors who share our mission to support piano education in Ireland. Please get in touch on our contact page.
